Privacy Policy
The short version: CheckMoto has no accounts and no ads, and it doesn't track you or sell your data. Your follows and settings stay on your phone.
This policy explains what information the CheckMoto mobile app ("CheckMoto", "we", "us") handles and why. It covers the iPhone and Android apps and this website.
What we don't collect
- No sign-up or account. We don't ask for your name, email, phone number or password.
- No location tracking. If you pick a district or home track, that's a choice you make, and it stays on your phone.
- No advertising or analytics trackers, and no selling or sharing of your information.
What stays on your phone
CheckMoto saves your preferences in the app's storage on your device so they're there next time you open it:
- The series, riders and news outlets you follow, and your per-rider alert choices
- Riders you add yourself
- Whether you race, plus your district and home track if you choose them
This information never leaves your device and we can't see it. Deleting the app deletes it.
Content from other sites
To show news, videos and podcasts, the app downloads public feeds directly from the outlets and services that publish them (for example Racer X, Motocross Action, YouTube and podcast hosts). As with any website, those services receive your device's IP address and basic technical details when the app requests a feed. Tapping a story, video, stream, ticket or deal link opens that company's own site or app. Their privacy policies apply there, and some links (such as ticket links) may carry affiliate tracking that lets the seller know CheckMoto sent you.
App updates
CheckMoto uses Expo (expo.dev) to deliver app updates. When the app checks for an update, Expo receives technical information needed to send the right version, such as the app version, platform and an update identifier. It isn't used to identify you.
Beta testing
If you test a beta version through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share crash reports, feedback you choose to send, and your tester email address with us, as described in Apple's TestFlight terms. We only use this to fix problems with the app.
Children
CheckMoto is a general-audience app and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If CheckMoto adds features that need personal information, such as accounts or community features, we'll update this policy before they launch and change the date above.
